Nadia Scott

Biography
Nadia Scott is a doctoral student at the University of Connecticut. Her research focuses on the role of biennials in the construction of “Latin American Art” as a distinct category of study, critique, and exhibition during the Cold War.
With keen interests in public history, education, and cultural heritage, Nadia’s aspirations as a historian are centered around breaking down barriers. She aims to make history more inclusive and approachable to a wide range of people. She believes that history shouldn’t be confined to academic circles; rather, it should be an engaging and accessible narrative for everyone.
Prior to joining the UConn community Nadia has worked as an independent curator and writer. She graduated valedictorian and summa cum laude from Spelman College in Atlanta Georgia with a BA in History and a minor in Curatorial Studies.
Research Interests: Curatorial practices, Art Criticism, Exhibitions, the Art Market, Taste, Aesthetics, Pan Americanism, Race and Racial Formations , Museums and Public History
